Here's what some former students have to say:

Thea Sullivan is a really great writing teacher!! She's always very creative, inspirational and she always has lots of good ideas. She's really fun. Her love of writing is huge, and that really helps her students write themselves. She's helped us write poems, haikus, odes, stories—even children's books! --Colleen Lamb, age 12.

My time with Thea has been primarily constructed on creative writing, with a hint of grammar and technical detail. I, personally, am very satisfied with what I've learned in her class. It's been a very fun and exhilarating experience. If you are interested in taking her class, I would encourage you to do so. --Miles Ceralde, age 12.

Writing Classes for Bay Area Homeschoolers!

Since the spring of 2002, Thea has been offering creative writing classes for children being homeschooled in San Francisco. Weekly classes focus on sparking kids' innate creativity and fostering an enduring love of writing. Each session ends with a "published" project and/or a reading for parents and friends. Recently, Thea added an expository writing class for teens, teaching essay writing, argumentation, and basic research skills.

Classes are organized in 8-week sessions and by age group: 8-9, 10-12, and teens. Classes meet for an hour and a half once a week in San Francisco, and one session costs $200-240 (sliding scale) per student. (The 8-9 year old class meets for one hour and the price is a bit lower.)

Sorry, I don't offer classes for non-homeschoolers.
